Zazzle has agreed to a class action settlement to resolve allegations that it misled consumers by advertising fake discounts on its website. The lawsuit claims Zazzle listed inflated “original” prices to make its sale prices seem like better deals than they actually were.
According to the complaint, Zazzle’s products were consistently sold at or near the same price, regardless of any displayed “discount.” This pricing strategy allegedly violated consumer protection laws by giving the false impression that buyers were saving money.
The plaintiff alleges this practice misled consumers and influenced purchasing decisions. Buyers thought they were getting limited-time offers or promotional deals, when in fact the discounted prices may have been the standard selling price all along.
Zazzle denies any wrongdoing but agreed to resolve the claims and avoid prolonged litigation by offering settlement benefits to qualifying customers.
Every eligible consumer will receive a $5 voucher to use on Zazzle.com. Those who spent more than $35 on discounted items during the class period will receive an additional $5 voucher, for a total of $10.
In addition to the voucher, all recipients will get a one-month free membership to Zazzle Plus, which provides free shipping on eligible orders placed during the membership period.
No claim form is required. Settlement benefits will be distributed automatically unless a class member opts out before the deadline. The court must grant final approval before any benefits are sent.
